The seat of the Dahomey kingdom — twelve palaces, bas-reliefs, and the history of the Agojie women warriors.
Twelve kings of Dahomey each built a palace at Abomey, and the site is now UNESCO-listed. The bas-reliefs on the walls are the kingdom's written record. This is also where you hear the real history of the Agojie — the women's regiment the films borrowed.
