One of West Africa's last great wildlife parks — elephant, lion, buffalo and hippo in open savannah.
Pendjari is a long way north and needs three days at minimum, but it is the best-managed park in West Africa. Elephant and buffalo are close to guaranteed; lion and cheetah are there if you are patient. Best between December and May, when the animals come to the waterholes.
